Migrating an Existing WordPress.com Site

Bluehost have free WordPress migration for WordPress.org site , However , if you have WordPress.com site, you need to be manually migrated , migration can be done in a day if you can get backups.

To sign up you will have to pay yearly, you can pay 12 months, 24 months, or 36 months, and months monthly price varies.

To migrate your website into Bluehost, you’d better sign up for an account at Bluehost in advance. Also, you can transfer the original domain name to Bluehost when you migrate the site.

Bluehost Plus Plan

Plus plan can have Unlimited Websites, Standard Performance, Unlimited Email accounts, Max Emails Sent (per hour) 500, website Space, Bandwidth Unmetered , Max File Count 200,000 , One Free Domain Registration, SubDomains Unlimited, MySQL Databases Unlimited, Max Database Size 5 GB , SpamExperts for 1 domain

Follow these steps to export and import the data to your original website from WordPress.

  1. Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Click Tools.

Click Export. Click Download Export File.

Next: Login to the WordPress Dashboard at the new domain name. Click on Tools and then select Import. Scroll down the page to the bottom. Click the link that says WordPress.

Click Browse and open the file that was exported. Click Upload file and import. Create or select the author for all posts. Mark the checkbox for import file attachments. Click Submit. Done. Congratulations.
