Evidently, God favor those who discipline themselves well and live purposely “with a right motive” and those who practice humility, goodwill, compassion, and righteousness no matter what.

Countless people asked, “Will God make good person prosper with wealth?” “What does the Bible say about money, riches and poverty?” There is no promise in the Bible that being a good person will secure a lot of wealth.

As to the 7 deadly sins, ambition to money-accumulation is a sign of greed. In the Bible, “prosperity” means peace, safety and health. “Prosperity” does not refer to material prosperity (NLT, Jeremiah 29:11). In the Bible, it says God’s faithful people may be rich or poor (2 Chronicles 17:3–5, Job 1:1–3, Matthew 27:57, Mark 12:41–44, Luke 16:19–22, 19:2–9, Proverbs 22:2, Luke 6:20).

In the Bible, there’s an episode. Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” The disciples were perplexed at Jesus’s statements. They were greatly astounded and asked, “Then who can be saved?” (NRSV, Mark 10:23–27).

In the Bible, Jesus denied that wealth is a sign of God’s favor, which is verified in His Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19–31).

In the Bible, the impoverished beggar Lazarus ended up in heaven. In a sense, the poverty which Lazarus suffers is obviously not a sign of God’s punishment or sinfulness. The rich man ended up in hell because of his hard-heartedness and apathy toward the suffering and the disadvantaged. According to the Bible, “blessed is the one who is kind to the needy” (Proverbs 14:17).

The Bible say, “We must help the weak. It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). Do not “become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9).

It says, “Many are called, but few are chosen.”[1]( Matthew 22:14) “Those who have been chosen of God…According to the Bible, the chosen ones “put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience,” coupled with “love, joy, peace…goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” (Colossians 3:12–17; Galatians 5:22–23 ESV).
